About London Female Personal Trainer

An independent guide to one to one coaching, owned by the UNTIL group, employing no trainers and naming none.

Why nobody is named on this site

The proposition of a site like this is that the trainers are women, so the obvious thing to do would be to publish a list of them. That has not been done, for two reasons that are worth being open about. The roster this site draws on does not record gender, and inferring it from a first name would be a guess dressed as a fact on the one point the whole site rests on. Separately, publishing somebody's name, photograph and qualifications on a domain they do not own and did not ask for is a consent question, and nobody has asked those trainers it. So the site is built around what the coaching involves and how the introduction is made, and a person who knows the roster makes the match. When a confirmed list exists, it becomes a paragraph on one page.

Why the reasons for wanting a woman trainer are worth saying plainly

A great deal of the writing in this corner of the market gestures vaguely at comfort and confidence, which is both patronising and unhelpful. The actual reasons are specific. Some are physiological: pregnancy, the postnatal return, periods, perimenopause and the pelvic floor are conversations most people would rather have with somebody who has a reasonable chance of having had them. Some are about being physically corrected and watched while failing a lift, which many people find easier with a woman. And a recurring one is about being taken seriously, because the common experience is of being coached toward smallness rather than capability, handed lighter weights than the equivalent man, and steered toward a class when a barbell was what was asked for. Naming those reasons is more respectful than tiptoeing around them.

Who is behind this site, and where the limits are

London Female Personal Trainer is owned and operated by the UNTIL group, which runs four private health and fitness clubs in central London and works with independent trainers and practitioners who operate within them. That commercial relationship is the reason the site exists, which is exactly why the disclosure sits in the footer of every page rather than in this paragraph. The site is non-clinical throughout. It describes training, never diagnosis or treatment, and every section that touches pregnancy, the postnatal period or menopause says where a trainer stops and a physiotherapist or doctor starts. It quotes no prices, publishes no transformation photographs, carries no testimonials and makes no claim about a result. Where an introduction is worth making, an enquiry goes to UNTIL Health Concierge, and no payment passes per enquiry.
